Since 2008, Vintedge have been servicing the Elsevier Asia Pacific office with marketing automation and workflow application solutions. In 2010, we were approached with the exciting proposition of bringing online their huge collection of evidence-based nursing learning content in the form of a Learning Management System (LMS).
The challenge posed to us then was to create a learning platform that would allow for:
- Importing and managing of learning content through a learning content management system, which would include articles, videos, animations, illustrations, checklists and tests.
- Implementing a subscription management system with authentication and access control metrics.
- Implementing a versioning and publishing workflow for the learning content.
- Implementing competency management features, such as tasks assignment, monitoring of learners’ progress, printing of certificates and various custom reports.
And all this to be designed, coded, fully tested and deployed within a very short time frame.
In late 2010, we launched the first version of the Elsevier Nursing Skills for Japan, a Learning Management System that was designed and developed from ground up, within 3 months. This was followed closely for Taiwan in early 2011. To date, after numerous version upgrades, language localisations and enhancements, 8 Elsevier markets spread across Asia and Europe have come on board with the Nursing Skills platform. All platforms contain custom-built features, localisations and workflows that cater for local market needs, but run on the same fundamental code-base.
As of now, there are in excess of 350,000 active subscribers from more than a thousand healthcare organisations and institutions on the various platforms.
